Title: Novel forward osmosis – membrane distillation (FO-MD) integrated system for produced water treatment.  

This talk primarily focused on the potential of novel forward osmosis (FO) and membrane distillation (MD) hybrid system for produced water treatment. The advantages of hybridizing these two technologies in a single module are evaluated in terms of increasing water throughput and lowering the systems’s energy requirement.

Event details: This was a three day in-person event arranged by the middle east chapter of produced water society. The event included technical sessions and an exhibition and it attracted a 350+ audience, including experts from academia and industry. The attendees highly appreciated the presentation of Dr. Muhammad Saqib Nawaz and the work of Prof. Ghaffour’s group.
